2007 Success Stories

12/25/07 - Hi Deb:
Just a quick note to wish you a Merry Christmas and to thank you for all that you do, not only for the animals, but also for us people!
Here is Pepper posing, reluctantly, and our new addition, Remy. They are true sisters and we love them very much.
Take care,
Michelle

12/18/07 Ginger found a great home yesterday – with an older woman Jill (who lives with her son). She wanted companionship and a mellow dog who was housetrained – and her son will be taking her on walks. From what I found out this morning from Jill, Ginger is curling up on the coach, and got into bed with her last night to cuddle. She’s using the dog door, and all seems right with the world for Ginger.

12/3/07 - Millie and Wilson hve been adopted.

11/13/07 - Another of our long-term dogs finally found a great home!!!! Rosie went to live in Paso, on 1 fenced acre, with a couple from Montana who recently moved here to take care of an ailing mom. They have 2 boys, 13 and 14, who also fell in love with Rosie. The husband has had rotties in the past, and loves them. Unfortunately, when they came out here, they have to give up their 3 dogs – but they found all of them loving homes before relocating. So, once they got settled here, they were missing having a dog in their lives – and up popped Rosie!!
BIG thanks to Lyn for fostering her for all these months (I think at least 3 months), and getting her all the medical attention she needed while in her care.

11/10/07 - Jake (aka Flea) has a new home. Ronning, Jakes new owner, says it is an absolutely perfect match.

10/8/07 - Katie, a 6 yr old lab mix, very overweight, rescued from Animal Services about 2 months ago. Verona ReBow has been fostering her and getting her weight down. We had to wait for the adopter in Santa Ynez to recuperate from back surgery. She went to her new home last Saturday, and she has a rescue brother, Brodie, to keep her company.

10/8/07 Jackson a 3 year old cattle dog who has been in foster care with Kathy & Russ Chapman for about 6 weeks. We had a great potential adopter, but Russ has decided he just can’t let him go. They have fostered sooooooo many dogs for us over the last 4 years – and this is the first dog that Russ really bonded with (and vice versa). They are keeping him.

10/8/07 - Sterling, a 7 year old Siberian Husky found a WONDERFUL home in Pismo with a couple and their 9 and 11 year old sons. Sterling gets to walk the kids to school each day…she’s loving it.

9/18/07 - That’s the news!!!!! – Mulder the cat has found a home! We are not always very successful with cats, but when we do try, it seems to finally work out!

8/5/07 - Rocko was adopted this weekend! The woman who had found him, did most of the adoption screening, and she feels GREAT about the new adopters.

7/30/07 - Zoe was adopted! She’s going to live on 4 acres (2 acres are fenced) and she’ll have two boys to play fetch/catch with!!! Good way to start the week!

7/26/07 - Buddy adopted - went to a GREAT home in Los Osos. They ADORE him!

7/26/07 - Finnegan was adopted – went to live on a ranch in Paso.

7/26/07 - Dallas adopted – a woman who has a boxer she boards at Creekside Kennels adopted her as a playmate for the boxer. As far as I know, it’s working out.

6/24/07 - Zita went to a home last week…sounds like it’s going well and she’s found her forever home.

6/24/07 - Chelsey is going to a friend of the owner’s. And, she will take her to the assisted living facility so the owner can continue to see her. VERY good news! Thank you Lyn for fostering her!!!!!

5/23/07 - WOW! Juliana and I were just at our wit's end to try to figure out what was best for Tipper. She was soooooo very afraid of people - (but great with dogs) and we even considered putting her down because of her age and what seemed like her unadoptability (age - probably closer to 8 than 6 has the owner had told me, arthritis in 3 of her knees - most likely developed because she was used as a "guard" dog at an RV storage facility for most of her life - and had been on pavement for so many years.)
Juliana was so patient and wonderful with her during her 3 month foster - but she has so many dogs of her own, plus she is doing dog-sitting at her home for extra money, so it was becoming a problem.
Tipper's new name is "Molly" - and she has a new life...living on 10 acres behind Hearst Castle, with very little people traffic. What an ideal situation for her. Sandy, her new mom, wants to thank everyone who helped with her rescue.
Sometimes, when you finally give up hope, God intervenes.
Love to you all - Deb

5/3/07 - We've decided (I'm sure we knew all along) we would like to officially adopt Pepper if that's ok. She is a wonderful companion and we both love her. I think she feels the same about us! David and Michelle Rogers

5/22/07 - Snoop - the min pin, was adopted by an older couple last weekend. they were going to try him out for a week, so let's hope they fall in love.
5/22/07 - Money - 9 yr old Jack Russell has gone to live on a boat in Morro Bay - gentleman is disabled, but able to walk and drive...so he will be with his new person 24/7.

5/18.07 - Kirby - was adopted to a young couple in Santa Maria.

1/12/07 - Princess and Daisy, Chihuahua mixes, were both adopted to the same home. I never sent out flyers, but just ran them in Easy Ad. We received several calls for a quickie adoption--just the way we like them. Deb
